Established in 2012, AIIMS Rishikesh (also known as All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh) is one of the seven AIIMS campuses set up by the Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). It is an autonomous institute registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act. AIIMS Rishikesh is one of the only institutes to focus on programmes relating to Mental Health and Palliative Care Training with certificate courses in Palliative Care as well. The institute offers a total of 32 OPDs, 96 specialised clinics for Genetics, Breast Disorders, Breast Cancer, Infertility, Lung Cancer, Endocrine Surgery, Spine Clinic, Paediatric-Orthopaedics, Palliative Care and many more. The hospital adjoining AIIMS Rishikesh was inaugurated in 2014; which started as a 200-bed hospital is now fully equipped with modern-age equipment. Aiims Hospital Rishikesh has 960 beds, 15 functional modular operating theatres, 17 functional super-specialty and 18 speciality functional operating theatres.
