IIT Indore – Indian Institute of Technology Highlights 2024

Indian Institute of Technology Indore, popularly known as IIT Indore or IITI, was established in 2009. IIT Indore was founded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is an institute of national importance. Located in Simrol, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, IIT Indore is one of the eight new IITs initiated by the Government of India. IITI is a Public Technical Institute and has secured the 14th rank in the NIRF 2023 Rankings under the engineering category. QS World University Ranking has also ranked IIT Indore 26th in the Southern Asia Region in 2023.

IIT Indore has signed several MoUs at the national and international levels with other institutions and organisations. The MoUs at the national level are signed with organisations such as ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore, IIT Bhilai, Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE), Bhopal, AIIMS Bhopal, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and IIIT Allahabad, among others. The MOUs at the International level are signed with the National Taiwan University, Taiwan, Institute for Catalysis (ICAT), Japan, Chonnam National University, Korea, University of Agder, Norway, and others.

IIT Indore offers full-time BTech, MTech, MS, and PhD programmes in various streams such as Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Space Sciences and Engineering, Biotechnology, and others. IITI also offers a BTech + MTech dual degree programme in a range of specialisations for students to choose from.

According to the latest placements report available on the official website of the institute for the 2022-23 BTech batch, 89.76% of the students got placed. Furthermore, the highest and average package offered during IIT Indore BTech placements 2023 stood at INR 68 LPA and INR 25.45 LPA, respectively. The major highlights of IIT Indore are tabulated below:
