IIT Palakkad is one of the prestigious colleges of India. It has been ranked 69th under the ‘Engineering’ category by the NIRF Ranking 2023. Established in 2015, IIT Palakkad is one of the third generation IITs in India. IIT Palakkad is currently being mentored by IIT Madras. The college is currently being operated from the temporary campus at the Ahalia Integrated Campus in Kozhippara, Palakkad and the permanent campus in Kanjikode. About 500-acre of land in Pudussery village of the Palakkad district, Kerala, is planned for the permanent campus of IIT Palakkad.
The institute has signed a study abroad agreement with Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, New Zealand, The Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, The University of California, San Diego and The University of Texas at Austin among others. These agreements will give BTech final-year students a chance to study one semester at a foreign University. IIT Palakkad offers BTech, MTech, MSc, MS and PhD programmes across various disciplines such as Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Mechanical Engineering and many more.
