Established in 1961, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (popularly known as MNNIT Allahabad or NIT Allahabad) is a deemed university located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It was also known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC). It is one of the most popular NITs among all the 31 NITs. It is ranked 49 under the ‘Engineering‘ category by the NIRF 2023 Rankings. It is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
MNNIT Allahabad for the first two years was affiliated with the UP Technical University. It has six departments that offer 9 UG courses and 23 PG courses to students across Engineering and Management streams. NIT Allahabad also offers PhD in four streams. Since its inception, it has grown in size and scope. Every year, it tries to bring new courses for the students to diversify their learning experience.
There was a rise of over 19% in the MNNIT Allahabad BTech average package in 2023 as compared to 2022. The highest and average package offered in the 2023 placements was INR 135 LPA and INR 20.31 LPA, respectively. Some of the top companies that recruited students were Amazon, Microsoft, Google, etc.
