Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, established in New Delhi, is affiliated with Safdarjang Hospital for clinical teaching and is part of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
The college was inaugurated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 17 December 2001, with Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani, Minister of Health and Family Welfare C.P. Thakur, and founder Principal Dr. Jagdish Prasad present. Principals were Prof. Jayashree Bhattacharya and Prof. N.N. Mathur. The college has become a popular destination for MBBS students, with over fifteen batches joining since 2002. It has received recognition from the National Medical Council (NMC) and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and the Avicenna Directory of Medicine.
