Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is a collegiate Public State University in Belgaum, Karnataka established by the Government of Karnataka in 1998. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Not only this, it was accredited with Grade “B++” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and was ranked 72 in University category and 49 in Engineering category by NIRF 2022. The University offers over 10 degree and diploma programmes across its seven departments, including Aerospace Engineering, Applied Science, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, among others. The popular courses of the University include MTech and MBA which are offered in full-time mode. Apart from the departments, it has 208 affiliated, one constituent and 17 autonomous colleges under its jurisdiction.
