What is IIIT?
Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are premier institutes in India focused on Information Technology and Computer Science education, innovation, and research. They were established to bridge the growing demand for skilled IT professionals in India and globally.
Purpose of Establishment
IIITs were started to:
- Promote education and research in IT and allied areas.
- Act as centers of excellence in emerging tech like AI, Data Science, IoT, and Robotics.

🏛️ Types of IIITs
There are three categories of IIITs:
1. Centrally Funded IIITs (CF-IIITs)

2. IIITs under Public-Private Partnership (IIIT-PPP)
